The Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) mission program is a critical component of our organization.
As a mission volunteer, you bring faith and love to the children we serve. While in Dominican Republic, you will spend time getting to know our residents while completing work projects to improve the facilities where they live and learn. When you return from your week of service, you become the voice of MSC, sharing the stories of children who cannot tell their own.
The Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) home in Dominican Republic is called Hogar Immanuel. We care for children and young adults with disabilities who have been abandoned. Our residents in DR range in age from 2 to 17 years old. MSC also contributes to outreach projects in Sosua, an impovershed neighborhood within the city dump. We manage a school in Batey La Union, a community predominantly made up of Haitian refugees, which offers classes in reading, writing, mathematics, Spanish and religious education.
